Strengthening Partnerships for Impactful Justice Reform

The United Nations African Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFRI) met with Uganda’s Justice, Law and Order Sector (JLOS) On 20th January 2026 to advance collaboration in crime prevention, criminal justice reform, research & advocacy, and to coordinate joint engagement for the upcoming UN Crime Congress, including Uganda’s side event.

Discussions highlighted strong mandate alignment and explored piloting a Crime Data Centre for Africa to drive evidence-based policy & informed decision-making continent-wide.
