A Defining Moment for International Justice in Africa

On 21 October 2025, the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the United Nations African Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFRI) held their inaugural high-level meeting, laying the foundation for strategic cooperation.

Following this engagement, a Memorandum of Understanding has now been signed, paving the way for strengthened outreach, capacity building, research projects, and deeper collaboration to ensure the ICC’s work effectively engages and serves the African continent.
